Some What to Wear Tips and Examples for You!
Many of you have been asking questions about what you should wear for our upcoming photo shoots. There are so many wonderful tips out there and many can be found on the tab above under "session information". I did, however, want to provide you with these visuals to help you with your choices. I like the different combos and wanted to emphasize a couple more points.
One of the most important things to remember when being photographed is to wear what you feel comfortable in. This, however, doesn't mean slippers and jammies unless you are doing a bedtime shoot :) Be yourself, a bit jazzed up. I love to photograph texture and color. These examples don't show too much color variation, but it's really great to have. As long as the family is coordinating with their color scheme and adding lots of layers and fun textures, it will look great! I also suggest bringing different headbands, hats, and accessories for kids and women. We can take some shots with and without, and it adds that special something. Layers are great for color and texture and also for different and varied looks during the shoot.
I hope these visuals help to get your juices flowing for your special session. As always, I am here to help and to stylize if you would like! If you want me to look at pictures, help you coordinate, etc. I would love to be of assistance.

Jazzy's Sneaky {Sacramento Senior Photographer}
I had so much fun at this session! I included many photos in this sneak peek just because it was so hard to narrow it down! I have never had a session with so many outfit and location changes and it was so much fun!
Jazzy is a beautiful, sweet senior that I had the pleasure of photographing last weekend. We were blessed with beautiful light and fun locations and backdrops. She was so willing to do whatever I asked and she rocked this session! She even has some adorable ideas for some cute shots at the end of our session (Jazzy, you are going to love those!) She told me she wouldn't be so great at posing..well, what do you think?
Seriously gorgeous!
Thank you so much for letting me help to capture this special year of your life..your senior year! It was great getting to know you and I'm so glad we were able to let your beauty and light shine!

The M Family - And Help is in Sight {Sacramento family photographer}
It has been a very crazy few days with editing and sessions and I have been sitting at this computer non-stop, it seems. I finally got a new chair to swap for my old pine one (you know, the old rounded-back kind everyone had with their pine dinner table). It helps, but I also need massive computer help. I have the need...the need for speed! (gosh, am I aging myself here, or what!) With my huge megapixel camera and Photoshop and all the pictures I am taking and storing, my poor computer is not happy. But there is help. I am trusting in the clients pictured above (or at least one of them) to take control and safe my sanity! Not a big order, I know.
The dad in the picture above owns Mintz Computer Guyz and he is a whiz with computers. I highly recommend his company if you need any computer help. And I am so glad to know him because with all the hours spent at my computer, I am growing tired of the "flatten" bar across my screen when I could have edited another photo. So, go to him, just wait till he fixes mine :)
I had so much fun shooting this family. Mom and I have been friends for a few years and she is a strong and loving person. The kids were great...polite and so well behaved. Our mini session wasn't so mini, but we had fun going over! This is not their sneak peek. I have ordered all their prints, goodies and Christmas cards already...so I thought it was about time I posted this! Enjoy!

Beauty on Vacation {Sacramento Family and Vacation Photographer}
I just wanted to share some of the beautiful sights we were blessed to see while on vacation last week in Oregon. We had such great weather and it was so breathtaking! I think we covered most of Oregon, too. 1700 miles in one week. Yep, that about does it!

A Blast from the Past {Sacramento Family Photographer}
So one Sunday morning I was walking down the hall at church and I see this pretty gal whom I recognize. But from where? I had to go a bit back in time, but soon realized I knew her from high school. And I went to high school 450 miles from where I now go to church! I hadn't seen her since high school. Yes, it really is a small world.
It was great to reconnect and chat about old friends and our home town. I was honored that she asked me to take her family photos this year and hope she likes them as much as I do! Here she is with her boys and her hubby. Seriously, she just as beautiful as ever. And she has the most kind and gentle spirit. I hope it shows in the images, because it certainly shows when you are with her. Thanks for allowing me to capture these moments together!

Beautiful Creation {Sacramento Maternity Photographer}
This week, I had the pleasure of photographing this beautiful mama in her 37th week of pregnancy. To some, it would seem she has some time left, but considering her first two boys arrived around 37 weeks, this little boy just might come very soon!
Can I just say that she is absolutely beautiful! Seriously, inside and out, this expectant mother is precious. She loves the Lord with all her heart and it shines right through her. Her first two pregnancies were pretty tough, and both entailed bed rest, but look at her this time around! We shot for hours and played and played...starting at her home with her sweet boys and her husband and ending up downtown in an art gallery.
It was so much fun! I love that we were able to capture her participation in the beautiful miracle of life and creation. She does her part very well, don't you think?
I love the background canvas with the pink flowers! While we were out in an alley shooting, Randy came out from the Brick Alley Art Studio and graciously offered us some private Brick Alley Art Studios time in there to continue our shoot. It was such a treat. It had some great light with skylights and of course the art was beautiful. The gorgeous canvas behind this sweet mama was created by Bernie Weston. At the end of our shoot, he showed up and I was able to thank him for providing us with such a beautiful backdrop!
Oh, and you know I couldn't resist this precious eyelash shot. This is mama's middle boy. Isn't it always the boys who get these great lashes!?
